1. About these terms

These terms and conditions govern the provision of pest control, termite inspection and treatment, and bird control services ("Services") by Doctor Pesty ("we", "us", "our") to any person or business engaging our Services ("you", "the client"). By booking or accepting a quote for Services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

This is a general template and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being relied on as a final legal document for your business.

2. Quotes & bookings

1. Quotes are provided based on information supplied by the client and/or a visual inspection of the property. Prices may be revised if the scope of work changes once work begins — for example, if concealed damage or additional infestation is discovered.
2. A booking is confirmed once accepted verbally, in writing, or by proceeding with a scheduled appointment.
3. We aim to arrive within the agreed window but are not liable for delays caused by weather, access issues, traffic or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

3. Site access & preparation

1. The client is responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to all areas requiring inspection or treatment, including subfloor, roof void and external areas.
2. Any preparation requirements (e.g. clearing access points, securing pets) will be communicated ahead of the appointment where possible. Delays caused by inadequate access or preparation may incur an additional call-out fee.

4. Termite inspections & treatments

1. Termite inspections are visual and non-invasive unless otherwise agreed, and are limited to reasonably accessible areas of the property at the time of inspection.
2. An inspection reflects the condition of the property at the time of the visit only. It is not a guarantee that termite activity will not occur or be discovered at a later date, including in areas that were not accessible.
3. Where treatment is recommended and undertaken, results depend on factors including property construction, environmental conditions and ongoing maintenance, some of which are outside our control.

5. General pest & bird control treatments

1. Treatments are carried out using products and methods appropriate to the pest and site, in line with label instructions and relevant regulations.
2. Some pests may require multiple treatments or an ongoing program to achieve lasting control. Where this applies, it will be discussed with you at the time of quoting.
3. Bird proofing work (netting, spikes and similar) is designed to exclude or deter birds from treated areas; it does not guarantee birds will not attempt to access untreated parts of a property.

6. Payment

1. Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of quoting or booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the Services.
2. We reserve the right to charge a call-out or cancellation fee where an appointment is cancelled with insufficient notice, or where our technician is unable to access the site through no fault of our own.

7. Liability

1. We carry out Services with reasonable care and skill, in line with industry standards.
2. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from pest activity, treatment outcomes, or delays.
3. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Warranties & guarantees

Where a specific warranty or guarantee period applies to a treatment (for example, a termite protection warranty), the terms of that warranty will be provided to you separately in writing at the time of service. As a general guide, the following warranties currently apply to standard residential work:

• General pest treatments: a 6-month warranty applies, commencing 6 weeks after the date of treatment to allow the treatment to fully take effect. This warranty covers a genuine recurrence of the pest treated and does not cover incidental or occasional pest activity, which can occur in any property regardless of treatment.
• German cockroach treatments: given the two-visit protocol required to break the cockroach life cycle, the 6-month warranty for German cockroach treatments applies only where both scheduled treatments have been completed and all recommendations provided by the technician have been followed.
• Bird proofing & installation work: a 12-month workmanship warranty applies to the installation itself (netting, spikes, mesh and similar). This covers defects in workmanship and does not cover new bird activity in areas outside the scope of the original job, or damage caused by third parties or external events after installation.

All warranties are subject to the property being maintained in a condition consistent with the treatment or installation provided, and may be affected by renovations, landscaping changes, or other alterations made after the work is completed. Specific warranty terms provided in writing at the time of service take precedence over this general guide.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time Services are booked will apply to that booking.
