Termite Control & Timber Pest Inspections

Termites don't announce themselves — by the time you see damage, they've often been active for years. Doctor Pesty finds them early, treats them properly, and helps you protect the property long-term.

Signs you may have termites

Know what to look for.

Most termite activity happens out of sight — under floors, inside wall cavities, behind skirting. These are the signs worth calling us about straight away:

  • Mud tubes running up piers, walls or timber framing
  • Timber that sounds hollow when tapped, or crumbles under light pressure
  • Doors and windows that stick without an obvious cause
  • Discarded wings near doors and windows after a warm evening
  • Sagging floors, or paint that looks bubbled or rippled

Any one of these is worth a proper inspection. Several together usually means active feeding, and time matters.

What's included

Inspection & treatment

Termite bait station opened to show active termite feeding

An active in-ground bait station — exactly the kind of monitoring point checked as part of an ongoing termite management program.

Timber pest inspection

A full visual inspection of accessible timber, subfloor, roof void and grounds, checking for current activity, damage and conditions that attract termites — moisture, timber-to-ground contact, garden beds against the house.

Termite treatment

Where activity is found, we treat the colony directly using proven methods matched to the property — dusting, baiting or chemical treatment to timber and soil, depending on what the job needs.

Ongoing protection

Chemical soil treatments and monitoring/baiting systems to help protect the property going forward, with follow-up checks so activity doesn't go unnoticed again.

Treatment methods

Every method, matched to the job.

There's no single right way to treat termites — the right method depends on the property, the level of activity and what's accessible. We run all of the below, often combining more than one on the same job.

METHOD: BARRIER

Termite Barriers

A continuous chemical zone around and under the structure that termites can't detect or tunnel through undetected.

METHOD: BAIT & MONITOR

Baiting & Monitoring

In-ground stations checked on a regular schedule — catching activity early and, once found, collapsing the colony from within.

GOT ACTIVE TERMITES?

Active Termite Treatment

Above-ground baiting, foaming, dusting or liquid treatment — direct control measures for termites active right now.

Detection technology

Thermal imaging finds what a torch can't.

Termite activity generates a heat and moisture signature that's often invisible to the eye but shows up clearly on a thermal camera — even through an intact wall or ceiling.

We use thermal imaging as part of the inspection to pinpoint activity behind wall cavities and hard-to-access areas without needing to cut or drill first, giving a more accurate picture of exactly where treatment needs to go.

Concrete penetration & treatment access

Where slabs or paths sit over active termite workings, we core-drill to get treatment exactly where it's needed — not just around the edges of the problem.

This is specialist equipment and technique, not something a general handyman treatment covers. It's part of doing the job properly rather than just spraying the surface.
