European and paper wasp nests can grow quickly through the warmer months, and get more aggressive the closer you get to them — this isn't a DIY job.
Wasps build nests in sheltered, undisturbed spots — under eaves, inside wall cavities, in garden sheds or dense shrubs — and a single successful nest can grow to hundreds of wasps by late summer. European wasps in particular are drawn to sugary drinks and food scraps around outdoor entertaining areas, which is often how people first notice a problem.
Nests are treated directly using appropriate protective equipment and products, with follow-up to confirm the colony is no longer active. We don't recommend attempting nest removal yourself — a disturbed nest is when most stings happen.
